AYERS ROCK RESORT

Wintjiri Wiru

We are excited to announce our new experience at Ayers Rock Resort, Wintjiri Wiru, which in the local Pitjantjatjara language means 'beautiful view out to the horizon'.

This breathtaking light and sound show brings to life a chapter of the ancient Mala story* like never before, with the use of ground-breaking technology that will leave guests feeling... just WOW.

Your clients can watch the sun set with views to Uluru and Kata Tjuta from an open-air desert theatre, savour the flavours of native ingredients weaved into a gourmet dinner hamper, before immersing themselves in a living story as choreographed drones, lasers and projections illuminate the night sky. A story passed on for thousands of generations, now passes to them.

Wintjiri Wiru bookings are now open with the show launching May 2023.

Aviation Update

We were delighted with last week's announcement by Qantas of increased frequency between Cairns and Ayers Rock Airport (Uluru) to daily, from 31st March 2024, adding over 37,000 return seats per year. The daily flights will be operated by Embraer E190 aircraft, featuring up to 97 seats across Business and Economy Class.

Currently a Fokker F100 operates 3 days a week (Sunday, Wednesday and Friday), increasing to four from November 2023, with Monday being the additional day.

Additionally, Jetstar resumes its 3 x week direct Brisbane-Uluru service on 22 June, flying Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Outback Hotel & Lodge

We are pleased to advise that the Outback Hotel and Lodge at Ayers Rock Resort has reopened following a multi-million dollar refurbishment giving travellers to this popular tourism destination increased accommodation options.

Previously known as the Outback Pioneer Hotel, the new-look accommodation has been given a new name and a complete refurbishment of the standard guest rooms, including new ensuite bathrooms and a major upgrade to the swimming pool and surrounding public areas. The upgrade also includes new furniture and soft furnishings - bed and bathroom linen, new carpets and curtains - which reflect the earthy tones of the Uluru landscape with warm reds, ochres, and pinks.

The guest rooms at the Outback Hotel also now feature large prints from Indigenous artist Delma Forbes, based on her original artwork Ngura-Country, which is inspired by the desert landscape and its ancient landforms, bush and vibrant colours.

MOSSMAN GORGE CULTURAL CENTRE

Five trainees graduated from the National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA) on 1 April of which two team members, Levi and Cheyenne, will continue their journey with Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre in both the cafe and guiding department. One successful graduate, Denique, is relocating to Ayers Rock Resort to work in the retail with the two other graduates, Vincent and Hannah remaining with their hosted employers. NITA has six new potential superstars starting their orientation this week.

Best Regards,
