Please see below an update on what's new at Voyages, Ayers Rock Resort, and Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre.
Wintjiri Wiru
Ayers Rock Resort continues to lead the way in immersive, world-class cultural storytelling experiences with a number of recent innovations and technology upgrades.
Wintjiri Wiru, the multi-award winning cultural drone show, now features next-generation drones that deliver an even brighter show, with improved stability across a range of wind and weather conditions. These new drones are market-leaders, delivering the highest quality animation, and are housed in a brand-new climate-controlled platform. The addition of a new laser enhances the storytelling even further.
In addition, we are pleased to expand our language offering to Korean guests to enjoy the narration for Wintjiri Wiru. This joins the current languages available of Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, Italian, French and German.
Sunrise Journeys
Great news for international visitors, guests can now enjoy in-language Sunrise Journeys narration using tailor-made translations through our partner, Vox. Languages include German, Italian, French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin. Pre-bookings for a headset can be made via Tjuta, or through the groups department for a group request. Alternatively, please advise your client to request a headset from an Ayers Rock Resort team member on arrival at the Sunrise Journeys viewing deck.
Guests joining Sunrise Journeys will enjoy new under-walkway lighting that gently illuminates the desert floor on either side of the raised pathway with a warm red glow, designed to provide a sense of theatre and depth. The lighting elevates the early morning experience while maintaining a deep respect for the surrounding landscape.
Field of Light
The upgrades to Wintjiri Wiru build on the recent refurbishment of the Field of Light, Bruce Munro's longest-standing work which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026 – shining brighter than ever as a beacon of creativity and connection in the spiritual heart of Australia.
Mossman Gorge Visitor Shuttle Vehicles Upgrade
Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre has upgraded its fleet of visitor shuttle vehicles to include two fully electric, 9-metre buses with disabled access – believed to be the first of their kind in Australia.
Named Kurrannji (Cassowary) and Kurriyala (Carpet Snake), the new HDrive electric shuttle buses represent the first step in plans to upgrade at least 50% of the existing fleet to zero emissions E-Vehicles (EVs) within 12 months, with another two EVs to arrive in FY26.
The new EVs will provide an eco-sensitive experience for more than 300,000 guests who visit Mossman Gorge annually, helping to further reduce carbon emissions in the world's oldest living rainforest and environmentally sensitive World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park.
NITA Celebrates Landmark Graduation
Voyages proudly celebrated a major milestone for the National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA), with 28 young Indigenous Australians graduating from the program at Ayers Rock Resort in late October – bringing the total number of graduates to 772 since NITA's inception.
The event marked a national moment of pride, featuring a keynote address from Her Excellency the Governor-General of Australia and a special performance by Indigenous singer-songwriter Budjerah, whose music and message resonated deeply with graduates, families, and community leaders in attendance. Other VIPs present at the event included Justin Mohamed, Australia's inaugural Ambassador for First Nations People, and Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australians, Senator Kerryn Liddle.
This celebration follows the recent graduation of three NITA students at Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre on 18 October, highlighting the Academy's reach and impact across the country.
NITA is a nationally accredited training program that empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth through education, paid work experience, and on-site support at leading tourism and hospitality locations.
