Palya,
We are delighted to share that a captivating new documentary on the making of Uluru's cultural storytelling sensation, Wintjiri Wiru, is now airing on Qantas Inflight Entertainment.
Titled 'An Ancient Story Takes Flight,' the short film brings viewers behind the scenes of the award-winning show at Ayers Rock Resort, Uluru, which uses 1,100 drones and cutting-edge laser, light and sound technology to tell an ancient creation story of the Anangu - the Traditional Owners of Uluru.
Wintjiri Wiru, meaning 'beautiful view out to the horizon' in the local Pitjantjatjara language, is a breathtaking cultural experience that brings to life a chapter of the ancestral Mala story through choreographed drones, lasers and projections that illuminate the night sky.
With Uluru as the backdrop, the documentary offers a glimpse into how ancient tradition and modern technology are fused together to bring the show to life, and how Anangu guided Ayers Rock Resort through the project - setting a new, world-leading standard in respecting Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property protocols and Indigenous consultation.
We recommend taking the opportunity of watching the documentary if flying Qantas in the coming months.
