Dear Trade Partner,
We are thrilled to share the news that Virgin Australia will resume flying to Uluru, with the announcement of two brand-new direct services from Melbourne and Brisbane to Uluru commencing in early June 2024.
Launched in partnership with the Northern Territory Government and Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, the new services will add 62,000 seats per year to the Red Centre, connecting tourists directly to the spiritual heart of Australia.
To celebrate, Virgin Australia has dropped a mammoth Uluru sale with fares as low as $129^ in economy one-way. Full details can be found at virginaustralia.com.
Ayers Rock Resort has also released a celebratory Welcome Offer for Uluru stays from $150* per night.
Voyages CEO, Matt Cameron-Smith, said: "Whether it's still on the bucket list or a much-loved destination, visiting Uluru is a must-do for international and Australian travellers alike. These new routes deliver more choice for travel to the NT, but also an abundance of convenient international connections throughout Virgin Australia's global network of partners. We can't wait to roll out the red carpet for Virgin Australia's return to the Red Centre."
The first flight will depart Melbourne on Thursday, 6 June 2024 operating up to for times a week, with the inaugural Brisbane flight following the next day Friday 7 June 2024, flying three times a week. Schedule details below:
Brisbane - Uluru:
- Frequency: 3 services per week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- Seats Per Month (in each direction): 2,300+ seats
- Commencement Date: 7 June 2024
Melbourne - Uluru:
- Frequency: Up to 4 services per week: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday
- Seats Per Month (in each direction): Up to 3,100 seats during peak season
- Commencement Date: 6 June 2024
The timing of the announcement and commencement of flights are ideal for both the inbound and domestic travellers, it provides the continuity needed in planning long-lead multi-destination Australian itineraries for inbound trade partners while giving domestic clients plenty of time to lock in that trip of a lifetime getaway, or plan their visit to experience Wintjiri Wiru, Field of Light, or the Gallery of Central Australia.
Virgin's return to Uluru is great news for the international traveller with only one stop from global travel hubs like Singapore and North America, providing connectivity to one of Australia's iconic destinations for international visitors travelling through Melbourne and Brisbane.
We thank you for your ongoing support and look forward to continuing to work with you to ensure the best possible booking and travelling experience for you and your clients.
Best Regards,
Peter Graham
