Why does the National Park close?
Closures are usually due to "Sorry Business" (cultural grieving and ceremonies out of respect for local Anangu), extreme weather like heavy rain causing track safety issues, or extreme temperatures.
Does Ayers Rock Resort remain open if the National Park is closed?
Yes, the resort remains fully operational even if Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is temporarily closed. All hotels, pools, restaurants and town square facilities are open.
Is Uluru visible from Ayers Rock Resort?
Yes, there are a number of great vantage points around the resort including our many lookouts. This includes Imalung Lookout, located in the middle of the ring road in the Resort, the Campground Lookout, Uluru Lookout, Outback Lookout, and Ewing Lookout which is located next to the Camel Farm.
